Hornsgatan Ramblers is a jazz octet from Stockholm Sweden. Their emphasis is on thirties and
forties swing, striving after the sound of the small bands of giants, such as Duke Ellington, Count
Basie and Benny Goodman. This paired with the bands’ own adaptations and arrangements of big
band originals has given the Ramblers a sound of their own.
By now their music has brought them to countries such as Korea, China, Greece, Italy, Germany,
Finland, Turkey, Denmark, Lithuania, UK, Belgium, Netherlands and beyond. And of course all over
Sweden.
The band was started in the autumn of 2009, when a couple of swing dancers in Stockholm decided to
form a band and to start playing the music that they loved to dance to. The band name comes from a
street in the neighbourhood in Stockholm where the world famous Chicago Swing Dance Studio is
located – and in which the very first rehearsals took place.
Several of the band members also dance in the renowned swing dance company Harlem Hot Shots,
teach swing dancing, and have won and judged numerous dance contests all over the world.

Miss Mikey May is a powerful, soulful vocalist, and a natural entertainer with a background in theatre, cabaret, burlesque, and swing dancing. The Organ Grinders is her Hammond-organ based swing and blues project, with some of Prague’s top blues and jazz musicians. Their mission is to serve up a wild ride to the roots of blues and swing in a dancer-friendly package, so you can expect a groove-it-or-lose-it good time!

It’s the addictive sounds of the early Jazz era that inspires the members of The Cotton Lickers on and off the stage: with three band members being dedicated Lindy Hoppers, they know that this music was created at a time when listening to Jazz was practically inseparable from dancing to it. With the rich skill set of the bands musicians, they can play pretty much any genre but focus on the amazing tunes of the early 20ies to the late 40ies with an occasional drift towards early bebop. The Cotton Lickers celebrate playing tunes from the past by giving them a unique sound with their original arrangements. Contemporary sound of the Old School, translated to Viennese: JAZZ as a drug – for recreational purposes.

The Coquette Jazz Band is the newest striking phenomenon band from jazz world of Vienna. The main goal of the six musicians is to bring joy to the audience and keep alive the music of the „Golden- age” of jazz. The main profile of the ensemble became the 1920’s, 30’s, 40’s danceable, swing music. The rightly popular charleston, shimmy, fox-trott dances, the old „gramophone-sound” of the 20’s, the pulse of the 30’s swing-era and the 40’s swing, dixieland- revival styles are their main focus. Thanks to the popular melodies The Coquett Jazz Band can be a great introduction for jazz newcomers. With their experiences and finely tuned sound, an impressive showcase to please long-time fans of the music. The standalone atmosphere that one can only find at their concerts led them to many invitations for 2017, amongst others XIV. New Orleans Jazz Festival in Siófok, II. JazzCapital Festival in Kecskemét and Classic Jazz Club La Rochelle, France.

Formed by bandleader Bernhard Glatz in February 2015 in Vienna, Austria, The Juke Swing Band has quickly grown to become one of the most active and in-demand bands on the local swing dance scene. That’s because they are all excellent musicians, but also because Nina and Bernhard are themselves passionate Lindy Hop dancers, so they know what they are doing.
With a repertoire that includes many classics of the Swing era as well as some less-familiar jazz tunes, their style can be both chilled-out and relaxed or hot’n’fast, guaranteed to bring the house down! The Juke Swing Band has something to keep every dancer comfortable and every audience happy.

The Maurer Big Band is probably the hottest old-school Big Band in Vienna! The band origins date back to the early 1990s, when the band was founded in Vienna’s 23rd district. From the beginning on, the band was dedicated to the Big Band sound and the dance music of the 1930s and 40s. Made up of enthusiastic semi-professional and professional musicians and equipped with original arrangements by Benny Goodman, Fletcher Henderson, Artie Shaw and others, the Maurer Big Band is a household name in the Viennese swing scene.

“Janne pushes the “swing” button on the dancing crowd, giving 20% more Lindy Shock and 30% more Smokey Feet, all from the press of a button. When it’s time for hard-driving swing, he drops the song on his attentive audience, and says,”BAM”. When the bosses needs a DJ to bring the swing, they call him. No questions.” – Shorty George
Building an atmosphere, giving content to the dance floor and at the same time keep it swinging, thatís what Janne aims for. Janne has refined this skill at many of the well known camps and dance floors in Europe (Lindy Shock, The Chase Festival, Paris Jazz Roots, Smokey Feet, Snow Ball, Ljubljana, Vilnius, Herr‰ng, Istanbul, Berlin, Barcelona and more), in Canada (Montreal) as well as in his hometown: Gothenburg, Sweden.

“Anything that you can tap your foot to is good music.” -Louis Armstrong. If you see Shorty tapping his foot, you can bet he’s gonna make you smile & dance. If you see him dancing at the DJ Booth, you can bet he’s bringing the crowd with him to newer heights. If you see him imitating Cab Calloway’s head-banging, watch out! Loving Lindy Hop, Balboa, & Blues since November 2004, international DJ Shorty George plays to get people dancing — hot & slow or hot & fast — jockeying tunes produced by artists from all over the world, dead or alive.

As a DJ who herself loves to dance to the whole variety that swing music has to offer Miss HiFly’s focus is on keeping the crowd dancing and giving everyone the opportunity to have their best dance. Whether it’s Lindy Hop to medium and uptempo Swing or Balboa and Collegiate Shag.
She likes to bring tunes to the dance floor you may not have heard before (or not in that version) but that nonetheless make you wanna dance to immediately. Nevertheless you’ll hear familiar stuff as well – it’s all in the mix. Her strength is to adapt to the energy in the room whether it’s calling for straight Big Band Swing bringing high energy and swing outs or for small combos to play with the rhythm.

DJ Nazli started dancing Lindy hop in 2010 after many years of professional sports career. This dance form has changed her life at the first rock step forever. She brings her sports background into dancing which gives her a dynamic and athletic look. She teaches and performs regularly in Istanbul and in international workshops. She’s also a Swing DJ both locally and internationally. She travels as much as she can to share the spirit on the dance floor.
